Early Life[]

Bjorn Iron-Wielder, given name Bjorn Eriksen, was born on 4E 182 in Hold of Falkreath. Bjorn's father, Ragnak, had moved Bjorn and his mother to Falkreath after he had returned from the Great War. Ragnak, also known as Ragnak the Unbreakable, served the Imperial Legion during the Great War and took part in the defense of the White-Gold Tower. Ragnak had earned the rank of Quaestor and fought to the end, earning the nickname "Unbreakable" because of his will to fight. Ragnak was injured after taking a sword to the back during the defense of the White Gold Tower and was pulled back to be healed. Once Ragnak had healed from his wounds, the Tower fell and the Empire was forced to sign the White-Gold Concordat. Ragnak called that moment the most shameful moment in the history of the Empire, while the Empire only held by a thread, Ragnak belived that the Empire should've fought to the end. Bjorn grew up hearing stories of his father's war experiences as well as being raised very religiously by Ragnak. Although the White-Gold Concordat forbade all Tamrielens to worship Talos, Ragnak still made Bjorn pray to him everyday when he woke up, calling for strength for whatever the day had in store, and Bjorn always kept a Talos Amulet under his bed.Bjorn's mother left Ragnak when Bjorn was five years old, she worried that the way he was raising Bjorn would get them both killed Bjorn would also train with Ragnak everyday from the time he could walk. Ragnak never believed in going easy on Bjorn, so Bjorn would get hit by a wooden sword daily by his father until he could learn how to effectively cut off sword strokes. When Bjorn turned twelve, he had become and expert swordsman and the bruises he would get on his body became less and less. Bjorn was also taught how to hunt and Ragnak always made sure to drill in Bjorn's mind that only the strongest survive. One day in 4E 194, Bjorn and Ragnak were returning from a hunting trip and Bjorn was supposed to do his daily Talos readings and he did so. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, a violent one. Ragnak went to answer and was immediately punched in the face and brought to the ground by three Imperial soldiers. Once Ragnak was down, the three soldiers whipped Ragnak relentlessly, all the while Bjorn watched. With tears in his eyes, 14 year old Bjorn could only watch and scream for them to stop. When the Imperials finished whipping Ragnak, they began to drag his blodied body away. Bjorn grabbed a sword from Ragnak's room and got to the soldiers just in time. Bjorn yelled for them to stop, they did and sarcastically asked if Bjorn was going to kill them. Bjorn responded with confidence that Talos would give him strength and challenged whoever the leader was to a duel. The leader of the soldiers stepped forward and accepted Bjorn's challenge and pulled out his sword. Despite the training Bjorn received from Ragnak, it wasn't enough for experience like the Imperial had. After a few minutes of Bjorn fighting the Imperial, he disarmed Bjorn and pushed him down to the ground. The soldier decided to leave Bjorn alive because he respected his fighting ability, but not before cutting Bjorn in the side of the forehead, giving him a scar. The soldiers hoisted a bleeding but still alive Ragnak on their carriage and rode away.
