The Daggerfall Covenant (known also as The Second Great Daggerfall Covenant or simply The Covenant), is one of the current ruling powers in Tamriel. The Covenant controls the provinces of High Rock, Hammerfell, and Skyrim. The founder and current leader/ruler of the growing covenant is Emeric Traven, who holds the title of High King of the Covenant.

History[]

In the year 4E 179, The city of Daggerfall named Emeric Traven their King. After his coronation Emeric began building a massive army, his influence in Wayrest lead to a union between the kingdoms of Glenumbra and Stormhaven under the Daggerfall Banner. Within a years time, Emeric launched a campaign against the ruling factions, both the Aldmeri Dominion and Empire. The result of this war became known as the Second Great Daggerfall Covenant, a new governing military dedicated to restoring peace and tradition to the enslaved provinces around Tamriel.

Battle of Rivenspire (4E 179)[]

The Battle of Rivenspire was the first major battle in Emeric's campaign across High Rock. The Kingdom of Rivenspire was under Imperial control, using the capital of Northpoint as a trading hub for Imperial supply lines coming from Solitude. Knowing that capturing the city of Northpoint would allow Emeric to choke out Imperial support, he gathered the Covenant forces and marched into Rivenspire laying siege to the garrison's and driving out the Empire.

Battle of Betony (4E 183)[]

The Battle of Betony was the Convenant's march against the Aldmeri Dominion. In this battle Emeric stormed the island Betony with 500 soldiers in the dead of night. They used rowboats to approach the island in silence and set fire to the ships, while the Dominion rushed to their ships the main force flooded the shoreline and attacked. With their victory, The Covenant destroyed the Dominion's Embassy and severed their connection to High Rock.

Battle of Wrothgar (4E 187)[]

Emeric was able to make an agreement with the various Orc tribes of High Rock, with their allegiance to the covenant they would be given the territory of Wrothgar to rebuild Orsinium. Together the Bretons and Orcs of the Covenant drove the remaining Imperial forces from High Rock, the battle is known to be the bloodiest major battle. The two armies charged head first into each other and clashed in a massive battle for dominance. The Empire had lost Orcish support, which composed 25% of their forces. With depleted numbers and no support from Northpoint, the Empire surrendered and retreated to Cyrodiil. The result of their victory was the rebuilding of Orsinium and Emeric Traven being named High King of the Covenant and it's controlled territory.

Battle of Glenumbra (4E 192)[]

There had been a time of peace after the events of Wrothgar, however the Dominion and Empire joined forces to lay siege to the province capital of Daggerfall. Emeric was capable of repelling the invasion with the help of the redguard of Hammerfell, a newly established allie who sent ships to the coast and trapped the Dominion and Imperial ships. The tactic forced the invaders ashore where they were met with Covenant forces, but unable to flee without being bombarded by the Redguard forces.
