At the end of the day, we're all wearing good deeds as a facade to hide our monstrous selves. It's just that one monster will come out on top.

Meledran is a Bosmer scout for the Resistance in the Age of Industry canon. He is now known as the Herald of the Phoenix, after being bonded to Marya upon her ascension as the Phoenix.

Biography[]

Meledran was born in 6E 148, the youngest of six children. His parents are the Lord and Lady of Arenthia, a major city in Valenwood. Meledran often uses his noble birth as an excuse to get into high society by claiming he is the Lord of Arenthia, despite the fact that he is the youngest of six children, and so is not even the heir.

He spent most of his childhood learning how to hunt and fight, and frequently spent days on end in the Valenwood jungles. It was here that he met and befriended many of the skypirates that often raided Valenwood. In particular, he became very friendly with Aglathran, one of the more successful pirates. He even sailed with him on occasion, and raided southern Cyrodiil with him. It was his time spent with Aglathran that formed his resentment for the Empire, and caused him to join up with the Resistance.

When he was 21 he met Sofia, and she persuaded him to join the Resistance, where he did well as a spy and thief, due to his birthsign - the Shadow.

His affiliations with the Resistance caused him to be cast out by his parents, and his noble birth nullified. However, this didn't stop him from going back to Valenwood on occasion, and he still maintains good relations with his siblings.

AoI[]

In 6E 182 he, along with Sander Lafayette, Valkyrie Ghost-Wolf, Sofia, and Ada Zeill, tracked down the Project: Behemoth to Leyawiin. They won the battle there, and when they went into the caves they had to battle the Behemoth itself. It was there that Meledran killed Emperor Maximus II. (See Age of Industry: Bound in Blood and Steel (Summary) for more information.)

He now sails the skies as a skypirate, and captain of the airship Wind Reaver.

AoI II[]

In Mid Year of 6E 184 Meledran caught wind of the "top hat" whilst attacking an airship, and went to Daggerfall in order to find Sander.

They then set about finding the identity of this villain by endlessly travelling back and forth from Brightwall, Daggerfall, and the Adamantine Monastery.

In 6E 184 he as killed by the Ironclad on the streets of Daggerfall, but was then resurrected as an undead by Marya, with her new powers.

At the end he burns to cinder after Marya summons him to her, upon her ascension to become Phoenix. In the epilogue he appears before the Knights of Azura, heralding the arrival of the Phoenix. (See Age of Industry II: Ashes of the Past (Summary) for more information.)

Personality[]

Meledran has shown himself to be many things. He has a certain curiosity that can lead him into trouble, bit he is always good at getting out of it again. Though not a cruel man, he is sometimes quite distant and cold.

Whenever the subject of family is brought up, Meledran can get rather touchy. He feels strangely in awe of his parents because of how much they tolerated his illicit activities, and is also very attached to his siblings. When Levith Syphre began complaining about how much he disliked his family, Meledran got quite angry with him.

During their trip to Daggerfall, he and Sander Lafayette formed a somewhat shaky friendship. This fragile disposition was effectively ruined when Meledran killed the Emperor. He remains on good terms with Sofia, and also with his siblings back in Arenthia.

Meledran has something of a reputation as a womanizer, and has often flirted with Ada Zeill.

Trivia[]

  • Meledran's armor in the image is actually the Dark Brotherhood Armor from The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal. I decided to use it as his armour because it has a definite steampunk look to it, as befitting to the Age of Industry canon.
  • Meledran is based on one of my Morrowind characters called Meledran. I made a custom 'Hunter' class for him, and as such Meledran in AoI is a marksman and an adept climber. The image is also of this character.
  • The original character card described him as being like Hawkeye from the book/film The Last of the Mohicans. However, in the roleplays he bares very little resemblance to this character.
  • After becoming the Herald of the Phoenix his appearance is described as being like embers, as if he is slowly burning.
  • The small child that is told stories by his grandfather during the miniseries "Tales From the Fireside" in in fact Meledran when he was younger.
  • During the second Sandbox Battle Royale Meledran was one of the tributes from District 9 (Bosmer). However, he was killed on the fifth day, coming 9th place.
