The Stormcloaks are a rebel army in the province of Skyrim. They started out as a militia led by Ulfric Stormcloak to free the Reach from the Reachmen that took over the hold in 4E 175. In 4E 201, the faction became a rebel army led by Ulfric, who by the time became the Jarl of Eastmarch.

Structure[]

Military[]

Compared to the Imperial Legion's more defensive capability, the Stormcloaks possess a wider variety of offense within their ranks, centered around guerrilla tactics, discretion, and some degree of the arcane through their uncommon mages and healers.

A separate branch for their elite scouting unit exists. This branch is often under the direct command of the High King or High Queen.

Equipment[]

In their early years, Stormcloak soldiers initially used mass-produced armor sets comprising of a basic light cuirass with treated leather and chain mail underneath, fur boots and gloves, and a range of weapons from Hunting Bows to varying shields (from Hide to Iron or Steel) as well as weapons from Iron to Steel quality.

Over the years, the Stormcloaks continued to improve their equipment, replacing the original Stormcloak armor with new, improved versions, complete with light, medium, and heavy variants respectively. Their weapons and shields also saw improvement in addition to more organized training under former Legion veterans that joined the Stormcloaks.
