Trollkin are individuals who possess an inherently greater metabolism than normal mortals, allowing them to heal wounds or injuries much faster. This ability in itself is called the "Blood of the North." However, they are cursed with a weakness to fire. One may be a Trollkin in two ways. One such way is by being born under the Lord Sign, and thus receiving the curse. The other is by being fathered by a troll, thus making the resulting offspring a "pure-blooded" Trollkin. Although it is hyperbole, "pure-blooded" Trollkin also have increased bone strength, a natural resistance to Vampirism, enhanced senses, and superhuman strength.
