For other versions of the Tsaesci Race, see Tsaesci.

The Tsaesci are a race present in the land of Akavir. Almost nothing is known about them by those who live in Tamriel because of the distance of Akavir from the mainland, but many assumptions have been made based on limited encounters. Chiefly, those of Tamriel assume they are golden snakes because of the Potentate Versidue-Shaie which they are familiar with in Tamrielic history.

The actual Tsaesci are fully human individuals native to the northeastern regions of the Akaviri mainland. They do not refer to each other as Tsaesci, for this is a wholly Tamrielic term, but rather the term "Okashirojin", which simply means "Person of Okashiro" in their language. They have a constant rivalry with the Ka Po Tun.

History[]

The northeastern expedition and the Great Divide[]

Before the Tsaesci came into being after a period of nation building, they were originally from the Ka Po Tun lands, as part of an expedition force sent northward, created by the ruling dynasty’s Emperor in search of mythological artifacts and knowledge. As the imperial symbol of the Proto - Ka Po Tun was that of the golden dragon, this caused the local Oka no ko of Okashiro to orally transmit the arrival of "Golden Snakemen", having mistaken the golden dragon of the Proto - Ka Po Tun expedition as a golden snake.

The expedition would end up finding nothing aside from new arable lands and the Oka no ko, who impeded their progress out of fear. The commander of the expedition, in fear of returning to his Emperor in failure, decided to settle what would later become Okashiro. The continued harassment from local Oka no ko drove the expedition to Minato Island, where the expedition eventually met more welcoming and understanding individuals. The expedition, bearing their banner of the golden dragon, decided to settle down on Minato and Watatsumi city came into being, much to the anger of the Ka Po Tun dynasty and its Emperor when the news started spreading.

The members of the expedition married the local Oka no ko and their children would become the Proto-Tsaesci in the years to come, adopting the Golden Dragon as their own standard, the expedition commander becoming the first recorded Tsaesci Emperor in history. As Watatsumi and the whole of Minato Island became more prosperous and populated, the Proto-Tsaesci started spreading out and conquering neighbouring islands, starting with Kyoshima and later Kuroshima. The two cultures had fused over time and cultivation techniques, shared between the ancestral groups, advanced by leaps and bounds. Very soon, other Oka no ko tribes were subjugated by the Proto-Tsaesci. This is recorded by Oka no ko oral tradition as "The Men of Akavir were devoured by the Golden Snakemen", having been assimilated completely by those under the banner of the Golden Dragon.

The people would later become what Tamriel would refer to as the Tsaesci, and over time, further establish their civilization, creating technologies based on their knowledge from their southern counterparts and the locals. Among their crowning achievements were their magical arts derived from their origin race and their great skill in metallurgy and forging of weapons.

Reclamation of the Mainland[]

The Tsaesci would later return to the Akaviri mainland, having united the then island bound nations under one banner and improving the military forces they held greatly. The tribes of Oka no ko on the mainland were not united and had no means to resist the punitive expeditions of the Tsaesci. They were either assimilated or killed off, as the Tsaesci would conquer the lands that would later be incorporated into modern Okashiro.

It was at this time civil strife broke out and the Tsaesci experienced a dynastic change, after having established Okashiro. The first Emperor of the Second Dynasty would move the capital of the Tsaesci to Konohanasakuya and it was also around this time in which the Tsaesci folk beliefs in ancestors began to be replaced by the Okashiro Shinto as managed by the Miko of Okashiro.

Having secured the mainland and many places rich in resources, the Tsaesci would continue their building of civilisation and culture. Very soon, Okashiro Shinto spread across the majority of the Tsaesci. This was the point where both arts, craftsmanship and martial arts flourished greatly and the Tsaesci were considered to have truly evolved to the modern form they have today.

First Akaviri Civil War[]

Sometime later, the Ka Po Tun began reclamation campaigns against the Tsaesci, and numerous conflicts broke out between the two races, at times also coming to blows with the Tang Mo over the years. The Tsaesci had successfully defended themselves against the numerous Ka Po Tun incursions from more than one dynasty until the Li dynasty's rise to power.

Rise of Tosh Raka[]

Physical Traits[]

The Tsaesci possess dark hair and fair skin, along with less pronounced, smoother features, and are known to have much less body hair than many Tamrielic races, and tend to have eyes in darker shades. They have rather average builds in comparison to Tamrielics and do not have unusual height or girth. They tend to have fairer skin compared to the Ka Po Tun.

Abilities[]

The Tsaesci are somewhat physically superior to many Tamrielics, have larger Magicka pools, age slower, and control Magicka with greater precision, even compared to the Elves. However, their maximum lifespan is still within reasonable range for a human race, if they do not Cultivate.

They are poor at casting discrete spells as the theory behind their magic is very different from that of Tamriel.
